We’re delighted to present this rare and sophisticated dress watch crafted from 18K yellow gold by one of the most celebrated watchmakers of the last five decades, Daniel Roth.

Regarded as a master horologist, Daniel Roth’s illustrious career includes collaborations with prestigious high-end brands and the creation of timepieces with intricate technical complications. His iconic designs, like the 8-day power reserve tourbillon and the Westminster Grande Sonnerie with four gongs, have left an enduring mark on watchmaking.

Roth’s work is often compared to that of Abraham-Louis Breguet, whose innovations greatly influenced him. After a successful stint at Audemars Piguet, Roth joined Breguet as the technical-artistic director, playing a pivotal role in reviving the brand. He introduced the iconic coin-edged, fluted cases and manually guilloché dials that remain Breguet hallmarks to this day.

In 1989, Roth established his own brand in Le Sentier, Switzerland’s watchmaking heartland, where he led a skilled team of artisans to create limited-edition timepieces. He selected movements from esteemed manufacturers like F. Piguet, Lemania, and Jaeger-LeCoultre, each meticulously modified and hand-finished with intricate decorations such as perlage, anglage, Côtes de Genève, and polished screws, executed entirely by hand.

This model features Roth’s signature double-ellipse case, a unique shape that is neither fully round nor rectangular, creating an elegantly balanced aesthetic. Measuring 38.5 x 35.5 mm with a slim 7.5 mm profile, it sits comfortably on the wrist and slips easily under a cuff. Roth’s signature hands float above a hand-engraved guilloché dial with a date window at 6 o’clock. It’s powered by a hand-finished automatic movement based on a Girard Perregaux caliber and is paired with its original Daniel Roth leather strap (showing slight wear) and an 18K gold Roth pin buckle.

Our watchmaker has fully serviced the timepiece to ensure it’s in excellent working condition.

Fun Fact: Daniel Roth is now part of LVMH, and the brand plans to launch new models next year, all of which have already sold out. Positioned at the peak of luxury, Daniel Roth’s timepieces will start at around $150,000, with only a handful produced each year.
